How are shipping costs calculated when Droppery arranges the shipment?
1 min read · Updated 21 Oct 2026
For selected suppliers, Droppery can arrange the shipment directly instead of the supplier using their own shipping solution.
This currently applies to shipments for:
- Livingfurn
- Benoa
- Raw Materials — large items only
- Rousseau
- Nijwie
- RV Design
- Pottery Pots
- Brinker Carpets
- Lee & Lewis
The way shipping costs are calculated depends on the destination and the type of shipment.
Shipments within the Netherlands and Belgium:
For deliveries within the Netherlands and Belgium, shipping costs are calculated based on:
- The weight of the shipment
- The number of colli / parcels The final shipping cost therefore depends on the total shipment configuration.
Standard parcel shipments:
For standard parcel shipments, both the actual weight and the volumetric weight are calculated. The highest of the two values is used to determine the shipping price.
Please keep the following parcel limits in mind:
- Maximum weight: 32 kg
- Maximum girth: 300 cm If the shipment exceeds the standard parcel limits, a different shipping method may be required.
Furniture deliveries to the rest of Europe
For furniture shipments to other European countries, shipping costs are calculated using the volumetric weight.
Additional charges may also apply depending on the size of the product and the required delivery service.
Examples include:
- Large-item / XXL surcharge
- Two-man delivery
- Other additional handling or delivery services For large furniture shipments, a maximum height of 2.25 metres applies.
Because furniture shipments can vary significantly in size, weight and delivery requirements, the final shipping cost can differ from one product or destination to another.
