What is the difference between an API, feed and FTP connection?
1 min read · Updated 26 Oct 2026
These are different ways of exchanging data with Droppery.
API An API allows systems to exchange information automatically and dynamically. It can be used for information such as products, stock, orders and tracking.
Feed A feed is a structured product data file that Droppery can use to receive catalogue information.
FTP FTP allows files containing product or stock information to be transferred between systems automatically. The best connection method depends on your current system and technical setup.
